Facilities & Institutional Affiliation

 

The Division is a participant in the Children’s Oncology Group, the National Marrow Donor Program and the Pediatric Blood and Marrow Transplant Consortium. It contains a state-funded Comprehensive Hemophilia Treatment Center. The Division also has the largest Sickle Cell Program in the state of Ohio with involvement in multiple clinical trials. The Division runs a brand new 22-bed Andrew Urhman Inpatient Unit on the seventh floor of the Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital which is among the top ranked children’s hospitals in the country. The Outpatient facility is located on the 8th floor and is equipped with a laboratory, pharmacy and infusion center. The outdoor Angie's Garden and the Klines Lounge top off the impressive new facilities all geared towards the care of pediatric and adolescent oncology patients.

The Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital / University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center is located on the campus of the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, which is recognized nationally as one of the top medical schools in NIH funding support. A full complement of pediatric medical sub-specialists as well as a nationally recognized NICU and an 16-bed PICU are on site. Additionally, pediatric surgical sub-specialists at the institution include neurosurgery, orthopedics, otolaryngology, ophthalmology, general pediatric surgery and urology.

 

Many faculty members in the Division are members of the NCI-designated Case Comprehensive Cancer Center.  Multiple core services are available to members of the Pediatric Hematology / Oncology Division.
