History of MP / Confocal Laser Scanning Microscopy Facility Construction
an effort to establish a state-of-the-art intravital 2-photon /
confocal laser scanning fluorescence microscopy dedicated solely
to furthering our understanding of how components of the immune system
operates within the native tissue microenvironment in which to carry out
their vital function in eliminating infections and cancer, we elected
to design a dual-platform microscopy system equiped with 2 Leica SP5
confocal microscopes and a shared Chameleon Ultra 16W 2-photon laser.
first half of the dual-platform SP5/MP system was installed in a
temporary room (WRB 5409) on the 5th floor of Wolstein Research
July - September 2007
microscope room construction was completed in mid-June on the 6th floor
of the Wolstein Research Building. Second phase of microscope
installation was begun in July 2007.
