Facilities & Institution Affiliation

The Division is a participant in the Children’s Oncology Group, the National Marrow Donor Program and the Pediatric Blood and Marrow Transplant Consortium. It contains a state-funded Comprehensive Hemophilia Treatment Center. The Division also has the largest Sickle Cell Program in the state of Ohio with involvement in multiple clinical trials. The Division runs a 20-bed inpatient unit on the second floor of the Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital which
is ranked in the top 5 children’s hospitals in the country. The
Outpatient facility is located in a shared facility with the adult
oncology division in the Seidman Cancer Center adjacent
to Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital, and is equipped with a
laboratory, pharmacy and infusion center. Plans are currently underway
to expand outpatient facility in order to accommodate an expanding
clinical service.


The Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital / University Hospitals Case Medical Center is located on the campus of the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine,
which is recognized nationally as one of the top medical schools in NIH
funding support. A full complement of pediatric medical sub-specialists
as well as a nationally recognized NICU and an 16-bed PICU are on site. Additionally, pediatric surgical sub-specialists at the institution includ
e neurosurgery, orthopedics, otolaryngology, ophthalmology, general pediatric surgery and urology.
Many faculty members in the Division are members of the NCI-designated Case Comprehensive Cancer Center. Multiple core services are available to members of the Pediatric Hematology / Oncology Division.
